Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I had to HTFU just to read that post.

Plus 12.28 is a week in the future. Time travel really requires you to HTFU.

Only been on the bike once since CX Nats last weekend.... enjoying the time off. Besides -2* for the high here in Iowa today.... ~-35* windchill with the lovely 45mph gusts today. You'd be out of your mind to be riding in that (crazy snow bike racers are in fact insane)... But, the wife and I did XC ski for ~2.5 hours. It was even cold for that... My left eye kept tearing up from the wind and then freezing shut.... and I'm sure my snot-sickles were really attractive as well.

If you've got the equipment for it, a 23 mile ride should be no problem at all.

That's pretty tough.

I went for a mountain ride locally (high enough to see snow in LA) this weekend, and there were some guys on the SoCal forum trying to convince me that the high 30's temps would cause soft tissue damage. Need to send them out to ride with you for a bit.

Makes Perfect bike forum Sense

Tsk, Tsk, Tsk - need I explain bike forum logic:

1. I'm an idiot - that's why I rode Sunday the 21st.

2. Idiots can't be expected to be competent - or even know what they're talking about. Confirm w/ my wife or anyone (other idiots) who reads these forums.

3. Idiocy explains typos.

4. Makes perfect Bike Forum sense.

PS - I bought a Lotto ticket when I went past the local quickie mart. I should be rich when the real 28th arrives.
