Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What Bike "Toys" That Santa Is Bringing You?

So...in the spirit of Christmas...and Hanukkah...and Kwanza...(sorry trying to be P.C...if I missed anyone then I apologize)

What is Santa...or your respective holiday "idol" going to be leaving you under your tree, menorah, or kinara?

I'll start:

Since I was a really good boy this year I got:

New Saddle
New 8 Speed Cassette
New Wheelset

The cycling event of my choice ... which, if all goes well, will be the Golden Triangle tour in May.

Like I tell every kid under 5 that I know: There is no such thing as Santa Claus. Those presents you see from "Santa" were bought at the store.

Merry Christmas

Pretty much get what I want year round so the 6 grandkids are the focus this time of the year.

But within the last month or so:
New Ultegra crankset
couple of new Conti GP 4000's
Tubes
Pi tights

Sure I would love a set a Zipp 202 with a power tap hub ( I would use for races a few time a year)...

Sure I would love a Super Record 11 groupset....

But I think I have reached saturation point...

For the first time in years, I am not getting anything bike related for the holiday's...

Maybe I will renew my VeloNews subscription...

I bought myself a new Surly cog for the fixed gear, a new lock, and some spare tubes.

And like a good Santa I can write these off.

Happy to hear it! When I got married I didn't realize there was such things as separate "his & hers bank accounts"

I don't care, like I told Santa, the Roubaix, Caad9 and TCR were the best early Christmas presents I ever got. Not to meantion the Specialized carbon shoes she picked me up for vacation this year!
Like I told her, I'm good for the next 3 Christmases at least.....

I told her that when I am not biking I'm outta her hair..........hmmmm maybe that's why she always wants me to go ride.....

We have 1 son (5) and he got alot this year...so I figured it would be okay for Santa to pick a little something too (of course, this is AFTER I got my wife stuff.)

I got Neuvation R 28 aero 4's, i got them off the scratch and dent sale, they came with no visible problems. they came to 207$ total after a 10% coupon. My wife will never understand biking, she keeps giving me **** about how expensive they are. lol wonder what she would have done if I picked up MID level mavics for 500!!!!!!

So far, a 1985 Nishiki International, with Tange 1 steel frame. Too bad Santa's elves don't know how to install brifters and upgrade the rims and hubs.

Panniers, extra rear taillight are bike specific, stubby wrenches, 1/4" drive ratchet, and wool mittens are meant mainly for bike use but not bike-specific.

I don't think Jesus spends a lot of time reading internet forums. Not real sure he even has a computer.

I think I am getting gift certificates to some bike shops.
