You're right, sorry. It wasn't mean to belittle someone else. I'm just wondering about the centuries under 5 hours thing. I mean, I would *love* to do a (climbing) century under 5 hours. I just can't mentally wrap myself around a flat century... so I suppose that's another category altogether: the flat century vs. the climbing century.

Don't stumble in the dark over a lane divider, causing a bruised back. Resulting in a month off the bike. At least one of the vacations.. I need to do a cycle touring vacation so as to not loose so much time from the bike. Maybe a week long tour down the Loire.

1 - FTP w/kg of 3 (this will be reassessed if I make it soon)
2 - Never, ever, get drunk again.
3 - Start racing (Should help attain goal 1 rather quickly)
4 - Finish the Cheshire Cat ride - https://www.kilotogo.com/cheshire%20cat.html
No mileage goals, it's all going to be about training smart this year, my second full year on the bike (actually, 2009 will be my first full year, I missed all the summer months last year due to Deep Vein Thrombosis )

1. Lose ~40lbs. (be lighter than back in 2006).
2. Ride at least 5,000 miles by the end of the year.
3. Be more consistent all year round and get faster (increase power/weight ratio).
4. Complete the Seagull Century (MD) in under 5 hrs. solo.
5. Complete the Cheat Mtn. Challenge (WV) faster than 2006.
6. Complete the Savage Century (DE) faster than 2008.
7. Continue to enjoy riding as much as I do now.
If I accomplish the first 3 goals and stay healthy then 4-6 should fall right into place.

I am surprised nobody has posted this yet, so here they are for me at least:
1. Do a solo century under 5 hr total time.
2. Ride at least 8,000 miles by the end of the year.
3. Be more consistent all year round.
4. Get a bit faster than 2008. There is always room for improvement there.
5. Continue to enjoy riding as much as I do now.
6. Finish my new weekend bike build by the end of January. I know, too much money to burn. So what?
7. Finish a 200 KM and a 400 KM brevet. Already scheduled for Jan and Feb.

- ride 3000 mi, after doing ~1500 each of the last two years (not incl. trainer time of course)
- do 2 centuries, incl. 1 solo
- start as a cat 5
- stick to a (still generous) budget of about 1/4 what I spent in 2008...
- work on my core strength
- build a wheel

1 and 1a. Win a Cat 4 crit and upgrade to Cat 3. Ideally this would occur simultaneously.
2. Be a superdomestique for an up-and-coming teammate.
3. Sub-hour 40k TT
4. Sub-hour Mt. Diablo climb
5. "Deserve" my new Red-equipped Bianchi.
6. Help my daughter lose her training wheels.
