Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Carbon seatpost stuck!

Help!!

I currently have a 2009 Giant TCR Advanced frame. Just last week I was moving my seatpost, but today it won't budge at all! Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!

I hope yours ends better than mine...I just bought a new bike because my shop and the manufacturer could not get it out.

If you have to, I was told that Calfee can do it, but that they wanted 5-6 weeks to get it done.

(do a search on "stuck seat post" and the like. I did when I started and found a lot of suggestions)

You've still got the seat on it for leverage, right?

Send the bike to me, I'll take care of it for you. It may take me a while to get the job done, but you want it done right, right?

I suggest trying to put the post in a vice and using the frame as leverage. Go slow though.

actually, a monkey wrench and your foot for leverage should take care of it.

WTF does the fork have to do with the seat post. No wonder it's stuck....maybe just loosen the seat clamp bolt.

Loosen the bottle cage bolts. That should allow the frame to 'breathe' and maybe release some tension on the post.

Absolutely nothing. I wasn't trying to refer anything to the two. Just saying that if I had an ISP, I would need to get my fork switched out since the ISP/SL needed to be replaced...

As far as loosening the clamp, all the screws that are clamping it are all out. How I wished it was that easy for me
