Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Campy Record Brake Set

So i have mountain biked for a while and some road biking with Shimano Components.
Got a great deal on a Soloist Team with Campy Record components.

Question, do the brakes have a release to allow you to take off the wheel? I dont see a lever or anything.
thanks

Yep. But, it's not on the calipers. It's up on the levers. Where the actual brake/shifter lever meets the lever housing (part that attaches to the bar), you'll see a silver pin that runs through the top of the lever, laterally. It protrudes from one side of the lever. Slightly depress the lever and push this pin to the opposite side. The brake calipers will open to allow wheel removal. Just be sure to push the pin back to its closed position after you reinstall the wheel.

I have a penchant for my Campy Record group. Everything else I ride is Shimano. I'm a big fan of the thumb shifter lever. Your new bike sounds sweet. Post a picture if you can.
