There is something in the air ...
A number of weird cycling related things happened to me in the last 24 hours ...
(1) For "grins" I decided to see how many miles I have ridden in 2009. I was SHOCKED to see it was over 1080 miles. And there have been at least 5 days so far this year when I didn't ride.
(2) I wear a full beard and yesterday I gave it a severe trim. By that I mean that I took over one-half of it off. I also gave my legs a fresh shave. Last night my wife said nothing about my beard but said how much she liked the feel of my freshly shaved legs. This is the first time ever that she said that she liked them shaved, BTW. Before yesterday she gave me unending grief about shaving.
(3) Numerous non-cycling guys that I know have sudden said something about how I have lost a lot of weight. These guys are all straight, I think, so it must be extremely noticeable.

I thought you looked like your avatar.
But about the distance you've ridden ... you might be interested in checking out the 1000 mile month challenge. You've completed the distance for January already.

When people lose weight the first place you notice it is usually in the face... maybe shaving off half your beard made people think you lost weight.... hmmm... I think I may go trim my beard, although, it is like having machine guns on my face.

Nope. The avatar is a picture of my youngest son when he was in 5th grade. At one time I thought that he would be the cycling child after we completed a 47 mile ride when he was 8 years old. He was riding a fat tire 20" wheel single speed. Now that he is in 7th grade he complains about the 2 mile bike commute to his school.

I didn't think you were a woman, but I did think you were a beardless, smiley youngish person.

it'd be way cooler if you had your bearded self as the avatar.. using your kids face as your avatar is kinda odd and makes people think you are a child/girl. i've always seen it thinking that was you. also, a beard in florida?? wth.. isn't it hot there? my geography sucks.. try the 'stache, and get yourself a chipotle garmin kit like me.

Congrats on the miles. Even though I am still building the base, I can't figure out how to get more TIME. Work just sucks time from everything. Why do those companies want me to actually pay for things when I can just ride instead???

There is something in the air ...
If it smells delightful, like a fine rose water, and gets pcad high as a kite it has to be a Lance fart.
