Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Great story CAD!

I was just out of grad school one year ago and now I am a researcher in a chemical company in michigan. Although some senior folks assured us that they won't let go employees starting out their career, one of my co-workers was asked to leave and he's just past one year in the company. Although the first wave has passed, we are still living in a hell of fear. There is absolutely NO job security in corporate America at all.

There's a Woodstock in Illinois? I live about 60 miles from the actual Woodstock here in NY. The music festival occurred @ Max Yasgur's Sullivan County farm (Bethel, NY, 60 miles west of here vs. 60 miles north to the town) but whatever. Nobody really remembers what happened now, do they?

Whoah.

My dad likes to tell all of us that he was there. I'm pretty sure he was 11 though...

In college i had a bunch of old Woodstock High School football shirts that i would wear around. There was a guy in Iowa City, this old stoned homeless dude, every time i walked by him with one of those shirts on he stopped me and told me about his time there.

"Woodstock? Maaaan i was THERE!!! 1969 man!!! Hendrix MAN! I was THERE!"

I'm pretty sure he was confused, there is...as you know, Woodstock New York. Then, there is Woodstock Illinois. Home of the great "Ground Hogs Day"

That, Orson Wells, Dick Tracy and...well..me. These are the claims to fame here.

Indeed.

I've bought 3 bikes so far. lol. The Origin8 Cykel 3 I posted in the "what have you bought" thread, a Raleigh Mojave 29'r, and I just ordered a close-out, NOS 2006 DBR Podium 3 frame, fork, and headset.

In the interest of space, and not having to build a new house, I'm selling off my NOS Cinelli Aliante frame, the single/fixed wheels off of my Masi Commuter, a couple of old Fuji frames, and maybe a Cannondale CAAD 8 with Record 10. If I ever get enough motivation to list them on eBay, that is.
