Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

In the eye of the beholder...

That said, all my bikes have a Masterpiece except the cross which has an Elite...

If I had the money to spend when I was building my bike I would've gotten the masterpiece but, I'm completely happy w/ the elite. They're both beautiful IMHO. The mp is lighter.

At some tube diameters, the two models are the same weight (because the Masterpiece isn't always available at the same shorter length as the Elite of the same diameter). You could saw off the Masterpiece and get it even lighter, I suppose . . . by why?

My weight weenie bike has an Elite. They don't make the Masterpiece in the same length.

Elite here. If I had a light bike I would maybe go with the Masterpiece, but my bike is about 17 lbs, so it really doesn't much matter. I race on 32 spoke box section wheels, so whatever.
