Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

probikekit shipment

I ordered a descente jersey from probikekit sometime during january 8th, a thursday, and I still haven't gotten the jersey yet. I live in California. Should I ask them about it, I know they're busy people.

Three weeks have passed. I don't think that a polite inquiry would be out of line.

Not out of line at all, ask them. I've shot them a couple of emails concerning shipments, they've always responded quickly and politely.

I ordered DA pedals from PBK last week on thu and received them 4 days later on monday. I'm in cali as well. I was amazed that it came quicker than the performance order I had ordered on the same thu.

I just received my wheelset yesterday, under 7 days from time of order to my door. The online tracking system appeared to be useless; I'd send a polite email, why not?

I ordered a wheelset last month, it arrived in 10 days. The box contained two
rear wheels. PBK made everything right in the end, but who is this guy in the
shipping dept.?

I was positive this thread was going to be about ordering a Rival groupset for a new CAAD9.

Nothing free, I returned the first mistake and upgraded. I paid $49.50 to ship back
to them. They rolled the $49.50 into my upgrade.

That's what happened to me as well - got two rear Aksiums. They don't have them on the website anymore (there was a thread here and we all bought them out!). So I guess they are going to come up with some sort of upgrade for me as well. Could you let me know what wheel you returned and what you upgraded to? Did you return the whole set or just the extra rear?

I really don't want an upgrade - I want a front wheel!

Felt the same, I had the Aksiums and sent both rear wheels back.
Went with Campy Vento and I'm glad I did. The box that the mavics came in was semi-crushed
and punctured. Wheels were loose inside the box. The Campy came packaged the way I
would want my wheels to be shipped. Snug and secure.

Sounds like it worked out ok for you. I need Shimano compatible and it doesn't look like they have anything similar in stock - hopefully they'll have an extra front sitting around they can send me. I mean, if we're getting two rears, somebody out there is probably getting two fronts, so...

What online tracking system? I got an order number, but can't find any tracking system on their website! Is it hidden somewhere?

In the shipping confirmation for my order from PBK, there was a tracking number, and a link to www.ParcelForce.com. I was able to track the order by selecting the tracking option from the drop down menu, copy and pasting the tracking number (without spaces), and then clicking on "track". From there I clicked on the "tracking details" tab for more information.

I think PBK gives you options for how the package is delivered. If you selected something other than Parcel Force, it might not allow for tracking.

Ironically, I bought my first set of Aksiums because my Campy Vento rear wheel developed cracks at about 8 or 9 eyelets, sometimes spanning the gap between adjacent spokes. The wheel was less than 3 years old. I hope yours holds up better, but I would suggest inspecting the area around the rim eyelets periodically.
