Did I mention mine yet?

cyclefreaksix 10-01-09 09:44 PM

Why no, did you happen to make a bike related purchase??

Unagidon 10-01-09 09:48 PM

2008 Cervelo RS, SRAM Force build. No pictures yet.

Unagidon 10-01-09 09:51 PM

Actually, I lied. The Thomson seatpost that I swapped with the stock FSA SLK seatpost is my most recent purchase. The bike itself, 2nd most recent only.

Wrist brace. Purchased just moments after some other cycling related purchases...x-rays, plaster splint, sling and tetanus shot.

rollin 10-01-09 11:37 PM

^^^ Ouch!

I got some Zipp 404s from my sponsor (Mrs. rollin).

After a very rainy, windy, and chilly ride in, hopped over to Nashbar & picked up a fresh rain jacket (LY's is pretty nasty)...

And a fresh pair of toe covers (LY's pretty destroyed)...

Arm warmers . . . it's been getting chilly.

Also picked up a pair of Pearl Izumi socks because the toe cut in the ankle-high socks I currently have is bloody uncomfortable.

that reminds me...... anyone got a suggestion (especially you Canucks) of a good warm sock? This was something I struggled with last winter.

riff 10-02-09 12:38 PM

I've been using the DeFeet Woolie Boolie! Nice & warm! I'll add chem toe warmers for the really cold days....

Tsuru 10-02-09 12:42 PM

Yeah? I've considered adding chemicals and packs but avoided it last year. You wear your road shoes or do you go to mountain or full shoes?

riff 10-02-09 12:59 PM

I ended up investing in Sidi Diablo mtb boots. They're fine on their own in moderately cold/wet stuff. The Gore Tex works great, but I think it's a stretch to call them "insulated".

But when it gets really cold, I do use the chem warmers (they will last 4+ hours) and neoprene overshoes for extra insulation.

I purchased a used stem for $15. I am trying to perfect my fit on the cheap.

What temps are you talking about?

FWIW, I ride down into the teens with just PI toe covers and chemical warmers. Gotta use Grabber warmers though, they're the best.

grahny 10-02-09 02:30 PM

Oh, and I just got new tires (conti 4000 4 season)... two brand new tires with mortal sidewall damage in the past month... *serenity now... serenity now*

roadiejorge 10-02-09 02:32 PM

A pair of Capoforma knickers and Gore light full finger gloves.

Teens here too (Ohio) would probably be an average bottoming out temp. Okay.. okay.. definitely trying the warmers when it drops down later this year, just the price over a long winter (LY's never seemed to end) can add up?

Finally axed the SPDs I was racing on and went back to Speedplays. Ahhh... so that's what power-transfer feels like.

Jealous! I've had my eye on all of these items. Very nice!

If either of you want to trade I'll extend my offer. ;)

Sinn 10-02-09 03:48 PM

Those eastons would look pretty good with the black caad9 frame. especially since I am going with a black/white/red color scheme.

White saddle w red accent, red accent on cannondale cranks, white tape, red hudz, black everywhere else.

As it is now. It looks like I'll be riding my scandium dura ace wheels with this build. These have red nipples, so that's pretty fortunate.
