Mavic Ksyrium Elite S wheelsets. My lbs credited me with the Aksium wheels that came on my SS EVO and I upgraded to the Ksyrium.

Looks nice and feels a little lighter than my old bike's stock aluminum. I'm hoping this build will be a smooth ride with the 853 steel frame and carbon seatpost.

I've always wanted a Waterford built Paramount (nothing against my PDG3 Paramount but its not the same.) I just closed a deal for an '84 Paramount frame set. We'll see where this goes...

Thanks, and most definitely yup on the "already done some adjustments though"...to help convince him that he didn't want the too-small-for-him 24"er,we slammed the seat down for test riding ;)

He does indeed love it so far. No trail riding yet,but he and I have done some laps around our neighborhood (road/paved),he has around 24 miles on it so far :thumb:

While on the search for a locally sourced "Barfly" style Garmin mount I picked up a topeak mini frame pump to replace my frame pump that was schrader only. I didn't want to recreate my only ride of shame from last year when I lost my presta adapter. I also purchased cable cutters and a threaded rod, washers, and nuts for my $5 DIY headset press. Did not find a Garmin mount.

Edit: I also picked up a smaller saddle bag to replace my large floppy bag. It's a sickness, I can't stop buying things. Thanks for understanding and supporting this addiction.

Saturday my road bike fell off the rack onto the freeway at about 50mph. Luckily I have a spare frameset, and most of the components I need to build it up. The groupset needed to be replaced anyway, and the guy who put my bike onto the rack is buying the saddle and bars, because he feels so bad about it.

Ouch!!!
I comend you for being so understanding! :thumb:
While I have a few frames kicking around, I would probably go "ape $#!+" on the person who caused(might've) this.
Remember how Alf used to roid rage back when the show was still on air?
Or how Alf got excited whenever he saw a cat...

Sorry about your bike.

Sorry about your bike.

The bike really handled it well, and I rode it later in the day. Other than a little bend in the derailleur hanger, a ripped saddle, and bar-tape, it really didn't get too banged up.

For those of you who have ordered from Ribble (or any other UK vendor), when you're watching the Parcel Force tracking does it go dead after changing over to USPS or should I still expect updates? I'm guessing that if all goes smooth it should be in a local distribution center later today and then transported to my local PO for delivery tomorrow or possibly the next day. I really hate waiting for shipments. They should put a little GPS tracker in every package so you can refresh a tracking page constantly and watch it not move.

Not sure about ribble, but I know pbk just sends the package and tells you, if it's not there in 31 days let us know. I just let them know by filling a disclaimer form for goods not received. Tires were ordered 1/13/14 and were shipped 1/14/14. Lets see what happens. Price to pay for paying 55% off on stuff.

I've only ordered from the UK one other time and that was with PBK. Order came within a week. Was quite happy with the speed (after I got it not while I was waiting). It's only been 5 days and one of those was President's Day so I'm not concerned that it isn't coming. I just wonder if it is worth my time to keep looking at the tracking information for updates or if it will be a black hole since it was turned over to USPS.

Nice. I would try switching from SPD to these, but I think I've spent enough money for the time being.

funny you say that, cause shes actually coming from an spd set.. she wanted a matching 105 grouping so since she needed a new pair of shoes we figure to just change up her pedals for a little more bike bling

Yeah, they would look nice on my build with the full 105 group, but I just bought my current spd shoes and pedals mid summer last year.

I have only used PBK, but for the standard (free) shipping the tracking stops once it hits USPS (or in my case Canada Post). I had read this somewhere on their site, but can't find it now. Each of my orders have taken just under 2 weeks to arrive.

That's kind of what I'm expecting. I'll stop refreshing the page every few hours. Ribble didn't even give me a tracking number up front; I had to send them an email requesting it. I'm guessing they don't bother with tracking since England is so small you can probably ship anything overnight and the tracking isn't worth your time.

Try using the same tracking code on the USPS website. Sometimes it transfers over. It worked like that when I ordered the Shimano group from Merlin Cycles.

Actually, the carrier would have already been to my place and left the "pick up at post office" note. I'm going to have to try to sneak out of the office early so I can get to the post office to pick it up before they close.

Oh man, I hate when that happens. To the convenience of nobody but the postal office, they are open from 10am to noon and 2pm to 4pm during weekdays. It is not easy for me to take 3 hours off work to get a package. I get in at 8 and get out at 5:30. That means I'd have to come in at 11am or leave at 2:30pm. Take about 30 min to an hour depending on traffic to drive there.
