It is not easy for me to take 3 hours off work to get a package. I get in at 8 and get out at 5:30. That means I'd have to come in at 11am or leave at 2:30pm. Take about 30 min to an hour depending on traffic to drive there.

Yeah, my post office is open from 8:30-5:00 M-F and 9-Noon on Saturday. I leave for work at 7:15 and get back to town at 6:15. My apartment complex has an office that UPS and FedEx both leave packages at and I can pick them up there any day except Monday (when the pool is closed). Unfortunately USPS hasn't figured out how to drop things off there.

Ok, so this is not a purchase from my part but a friend of mine came looking for advice on what bike to buy with $800 and I pointed him to a 2013 CAAD 10 5 for $900. The guy says it has 76 miles on it and it seems like it. It comes with Speedplay pedals as well as NIB look pedals + saddle bag. Did I do good on telling him to go for it? Size 54cm, which he believes is his size and I think it is due to his stature.

If it fits, it sounds like a pretty good deal, and he might be able to be talked down a bit.

Speaking of caad10s. My most recent purchase :D

Sorry not the drive side and the disk is still on.....unloaded it, snapped a picture, and ran off to class :p

After spending a grand total of about $15 total (on a CamelBak water bottle) for both 2012 and 2013, 2014 has been a time for restocking.

Mostly expendable stuff, a few bits for the new frame, cold-weather-riding-enabling-stuff.

Here is the groupset and headset! One of my cats (OJ) is sizing up the Ribble box. Until I saw the picture I didn't realize the cranks had that two tone thing going on.

Edit: I have everything on the frame now just have to cable it up and put on the bar tape.

Nice! :thumb: Is the black version the same as the silver one or does it have difference in weight/function?

They're the same just different finish.

Is that a 105 crankset? Sure wish I had one of those...

Yes, full 105 5700 groupset in black. That is the 170 mm compact crank with the 50/34.

He ended up getting it :). He paid the full $900 for it but I still think it was an awesome deal. I rode it and it is as good as BNIB. Actually, better. It came with a pair of speedplay zero chro mo pedals, look keo easy pedals, Cateye speed computer, seat bag and he also gave him an extra 40cm alum Stella Azzurra handlebars. I think I am more excited than he is. It is his first road bike! I want to take the Zeros from him since I need an extra pair.

Picked up a new FSA 50t chain ring to replace my original one which I think I accidentally bent slightly last time I was taking it apart for cleaning. $22 on sale today at Nashbar.

BEAUTIFUL bike!

SpeshulEd 02-20-14 06:29 PM

I've been going nuts again.

So my Vigorelli (with SRAM Omnium crankset) came Tuesday:
http://bikelanechicago.com/wp-conten.../1000x1000.jpg

And a new bike needs new wheels, right!?! So I bought some of these yesterday (h plus son archetypes laced to phil hubs):
http://s3-live.tapcdn.com/images/tap...type-black.jpg

And gotta get some components because the ones in the parts bin just won't do, so 3T Ergonova Pro's and Arx stem it is!
http://media.nashbar.com/images/nash...-NCL-FRONT.jpg https://media.nashbar.com/images/nas...-NCL-FRONT.jpg

A new chain and some caleido tape...
http://www.wingedstore.com/417-thick...n-bar-tape.jpg

And a brake because I suck at skidding.
http://kozy.com/merchant/108/images/...721-levers.jpg

PBK has the Arundel Dual's onsale for $12, so got two more of those so all of my bikes match now.
http://cdn.mos.bikeradar.com/images/...uch-399-80.jpg

Throw in another 6 latex tubes to round out the PBK order...
http://www.partycycle.com/288-166-la...esta-36-mm.jpg

...now just need to get a seatpost for the vig and I should be good to go. Can't wait to get it built up so I can snap some photos of it...and ride it.

Can't wait to see this built!
Is it me, or does the pic of that frame seem almost 3Dish looking?
:D

Yep! That's the way the graphic looks. I fell in love with the road version earlier this summer but my size sold out and it was kind of pricey to be honest.

When this one came out for a much more affordable price, I jumped on it. My other fixed bike is a Bikes Direct cheapie, it was heavy and just not all that fun to ride. When I got my road bikes, they kind of took over. I like riding fixed though and I think it will be good training on my legs and cadence, which will hopefully pay of on the road bikes.

I was kind of looking for something with the celeste color.. I just bought the shimano dura ace c24 wheels to go with my new bike... kinda sucks when you make so many upgrades at once, but these wheels seem great for climbing! My bibs are the Castelli Velocissimo DS Bib Shorts https://www.backcountry.com/images/i...581/BLAGRE.jpgthe chamios is a little small. I would like to find a brand that made a decent size chamios.

lsberrios1 02-21-14 08:02 AM

Well, while I think you can find something in Celeste I think you should go for something with Euro flare in general. You don't want to stick to only one color because that will limit the availability of kits. Just because the bike is celeste doesn't mean that everything else has to be. I got screwed because everything I own is black and red due to my roubaix being black and red. Now I ride a Rabobank TCR in orange and blue and guess what the combo sucks.. but I have too nice of things make the switch or buy anything else and honestly, I don't care what I am wearing as long as I am comfortable and FAST!

Good choice on the DA c24. Good climbing wheels. Next up is a set of C50s :)

Here are some helmets that I thought might be of interest. I'd wear the crap out of this helmet with the jacket that my fiancee got me for Valentine's.
