Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Glory cycles takes great pics. Looking forward to seeing what you think of the C59 compared to the Parlee.

I thought the white C60 looked sweet but got a nice deal on this artsy C59....

I test rode a 'nago when I got the Parlee, so I have a good idea what to expect. Hey, it's a bike...It ain't gonna be able to make me go faster

I'm really hoping that this will help with that. Overall I find the 28 to be enough for most of my riding. The other part is now I'm using a coach who has me doing a fair bit of recovery riding, the terrain where I live is practically impossible to do that on with current gearing.
I was extremely glad I got the 11-32 when I went for my ride Sunday. I had done a fairly flat 45mi ride on Saturday then went for a ride around Shenandoah Sunday. It didn't feel too bad when I started but once I got into the extended climbs the 32 was great for when my heart rate spiked up too high. I've found the mid-cage doesn't look too bad, but that's all personal preference

Where were you riding in Shenandoah, do you come out this way often? Derailleur should be here today so if it rains tomorrow I'll swap out the cage and try to get it running

I don't head out there too often and in fact this was my second ride out there. Last time I did Skyline drive out and back strarting from the north, totalling 60mi; this time we went south through the valley of the neighboring George Washington National Forest then went up Skyline drive. That 4 mile climb heading up to Skyline was one heck of a climb! Noticed on Strava that it's rated a Category 2 climb...

Yeah. I hadn't adjusted it or changed out the pedles and seat yet. That was fresh from the shop. It's all better now.

Shimano R170s - just got these and did a 30mi test ride. I like 'em a lot, light, stiff and really nice fit. Snug but not too snug, well ventilated and happy knees too. Think it's time to retire my old Genius 5s non-carbons.

I picked up the winter jersey last month and its awesome. Pair it with a merino base layer and you'll stay nice and warm.

Thanks! I have the handlebar a bit high in order to get used to the road bike riding position. I will probably lower it a bit as soon as this coming weekend.
