Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I bought these shorts last:
Men's Elite Cycling Shorts w Luxury Carbon Air-Mesh Chamois Pad

They are on my top 3 favorite shorts to wear. The gripper is awesome, the pad is pretty good for a thicker pad and the material is super comfortable, great on the really hot days.

Today I received an FSA SB 25 seatpost. Was curious to see how it compared to my Specialized CG-R. I ordered a new wheelset today- Pacenti SL23 rims, DT 240S hubs (24x28), and DT Aerolite spokes. I wanted the Alchemy hubs but Jeremy does not seem to be able to run a company, so I gave up on them. Can hardly wait to get those new wheels. Oh, I also got a Syntace torque wrench with the allen socket bits. Now if I can just find a 44 hood c-c oval/flat top carbon bar with external routing. Life is good!

Took advantage of Backcountry 20% off plus store credit plus 8% fatwallet cash back, net ended up being $502. Going to get it laced to my 3T Accelero 40 Pro. They have been solid so far, albeit a touch on the porky side. But I am liking the 23mm rim width which means I might be selling some wheels soon...

Used my Giro Factors a couple times now and they are too narrow. I have the 2 velcro straps as loose as they can be, just barely strapped and the buckle is fairly loose as well and my feet still go numb in them. I have plenty of length and my cleat placement is fine. My specialized S works shoes are much more comfortable, but even those, I have to loosen up a lot in order for my feet to fit properly.

Have done a lot of research on Bonts over the last month, with a detailed conversation with a local dealer today. I really hope these shoes meet my expectations! I'm super excited about them. They have a more natural foot shape and can be heat molded as many times as you want. These are the new Vaypor + which have the Boa like system. I measured right on the fence of standard or wide fit. I went with a wide and hoping this will make a big difference in comfort.

@bianchi10- nice shoes!

I didn't think I'd ever give up the De Rosa, but I stripped it down back to a bare frameset(for sale if anyone is interested) and the SR11 EPS parts will be going on a new build.

While waiting for the new frameset to arrive from Deutschland, this should be arriving shortly:

Just ordered the Rudy Project Noyz glasses with prescription inserts. I've only heard fantastic things about Rudy's RX glasses, so it was expensive, but should be worth it. I love the green/blue colour combo.

Last time I built up a 3rd bike (Cervelo S3-Norwegian Red), I barely rode it since I already had the Ridley and the De Rosa.

I'm a "cheapo" kind of cyclist; took advantage of last Memorial weekend holiday's Door Buster deals. And the rest they say is history.

Already took the Giro on my recent ride. It's light it almost felt like I wasn't wearing a helmet at all. Happy with that purchase. As for the CO2s I plan on sacrificing one canister just to get the feel of actually using it. But I will never wish that I'd get to use it during a ride.

Yeah their sizing is very different. I'm a 45 in the giro, 44 in specialized and a 43 in the Bont. Luckily there is a local shop that is a dealer and does all the measuring and ordering for me.

I'm so excited to get these, I can hardly wait!

spent $280.. worth it?

1993 Cannondale R600 2.8
16 speed Shimano 600 index shifters
Shimano gearset
Vetta leather saddle
Mavic Open 4CD wheelset
Bontrager R1 tires

not planning on changing much to it.
have the whole bike taken apart, cleaned and polished.
lower the stem just a bit
take the kickstand off
take the plastic ring next to the cassette off
take off the water bottle cages
get some toe clips
