Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Griffen Kompresser boron carbide aluminum metal matrix composite frame from R&A cycles. With some newly ordered parts on the way, I hope to have it up and running by next weekend. After riding my Litec magnesium frame today, reminding me just how great the ride quality of that frame material truly is, I can't wait to ride the Griffen.

14 tooth fixed cog for my new-to-me track bike.

Picked up a 1080p waterproof sport cam from Amazon for $95. Figured it would be fun for skiing, riding, motorcycling.

Ninja style balaclava; at least the helmet fits over it and I'm not cold. From Marks Workwear.

Found a deal on a Fizik Cyrano 00 Carbon bar (Bull) and Cyrano Stem over at Price Point today, Bar $229 and stem $59. The bar alone usually retails for $350-$400. Now if I could just find the new Cyrano 00 Seatpost to match, looks like it hasn't hit the market yet?

I decided you can't buy helmets in colors like these unless you are prepared to have multiples, it's just too clashy.

I was excited about this helmet and had an opportunity to race with one this fall. I had two major complaints. There is no place to put your sunglasses unless you buy smith optics. The cooling was sub par despite having massive cooling vents... Chris Froome would endorse this helmet because the only time you get airflow is when you're looking at your stem.

Wat? It holds my radars really, really well. In fact I've read many professional reviews that say some smiths are the worst fitting sunglasses.
