Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Just bought these for my new race build. Wanted something cheap, light, and reliable.

I will. I currently run the Nashbar shifters with DA7800 because they are a bit smaller than the 7800 ones. They seem to work fine. This will be my first try on the "whole" gruppo. $233 for everything is cheaper than just shifter for most groups.

After attempting to true my rear wheel and noticing a ding in the rim from the day last summer when some a$$h0le pulled the group through a minefield of potholes and I flatted, I'm springing for a new Kinlin niobium 27.

I had a very rare day and spent some money on something other than groceries or race entry.

Giro Havik II- GREAT price, fit really nicely, amazing lenses, look awesome. My other glasses have good lenses, but the frames are not good for riding.

TruVativ GXP BB- Because my other one is shot after 5 months.

Vittoria Rubino Slick 25mm- Great tires, cheap, light, comfy.

Shimano 105 10 speed cassette 11/25- Cheap, works great.

McDonalds Banana Milkshake- Overpriced, but delicious. I've had a decent week. Suck it.

Take a good look at your crank, too, if it's the current Truvativ/Sram type with the spider press-fitted onto the axle. I had one of those develop a wobble as the spider worked its way loose, and it then trashed the BB. My experience is limited, honestly, but when three out of four GXP cranks I've ridden (two on my bikes, and the third was a shop bike) start wobbling enough to rub the chain on the FD in a tall gear combo, I'd rather use something else.

nah, it's a Red crank, the bearing cartridge wobbles from side to side inside of the shell. I'm imagining that cyclocross, a few spills and a liberal dose of cobbles does that,

Ah, ok. In my case it was two Truvativ Elita cranks and a 2010 Rival that all developed the same symptoms.

Just ordered a Sella Italia Prolink saddle, in white:

To replace the narrower, harder (but just as white, and probably a tad lighter) saddle that came with my Scott CR1.
