Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Got a set of Continental GP4000S clincher tires (largely by recommendation of this board.) I also got them because black chili powder sounds like such a ridiculous selling point I had to have them. I did a quick ride with them today and they seemed to handle pretty well. Wasn't sure I would, but I could definitely feel the difference between my old 25mm tire profile to the new 23mm tire profile.

Can you? I couldn't. Plus it takes them about 30 miles to wear off the outer layer and become sticky.

For my birthday coming, a good friend of mine ordered https://greasemonkeywipes.com/
and gave me half a box. We saw these on the TV show, "The Shark Tank" and I thought they were brilliant. My friend remembered and tracked some down.

Since I went all the way down to the Tour De Cure, and realized I forgot my helmet, which is mandatory (even though I could have and should have just rode without it this time) I had to buy a new crappy Schwinn Helmet to participate.

I think I also picked a few small tools and odds and ends over the past couple of days for the bikes.

You're probably right, actually. I took them on a ~45 mile ride yesterday and felt I had a harder time holding my line than normal -- I figured it was because they were 23mm, but I didn't even think about the break in process. Today I went on a ~60 mile ride and I didn't have any problems. It makes sense that it's the tire break-in as opposed to the 2mm difference, I'd have to be crazy in tune with the bike to feel that.

My latest cycling purchase was at home depot. 1/8inch steel rod. don't mind the dirty frame, it's a tool not a jewel.

Works great so far. The only downside is having to take it off between uses (I park outside)

A Thomsen seatpost for my MTB, as the Synchros was clicking so bad, and no amount of fiddling/lube could shut it up. If this Thomsen clicks, I am going to be pissed. So far, so good.

I have some take-off CXP-22S wheels from an 2010 Allez Comp coming for my bike. Along with a dura-ace 12-27 cassette, some Continental Grand Prix 4000S's, and some Continental tubes. They will be the road wheels for now and my stock rear will be kept for use with the trainer. Assuming the rims weight about the same as my current stock Alex S500's, the whole setup should be around 450grams lighter.

Also a bit annoyed that my TACX Juno bottle cages arrived and tipped the scale at 49 grams, nowhere near the 39 grams they were marked as.

My latest purchase. I made the "leap"from SRAM Rival standard to Force Compact crankset and front derailleur.

Also replaced my stem with a "wet white" Ritchey WCS stem. The red Hudz and red Prologo saddle cover are recent too.
