Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I needed an alternative wheelset for the winter months. Wiggle had the best price for the Campagnolo Khamsin ASY G3, $186 shipped to NYC.

Nice- that cassette is one of my favorite parts on my bike, simply from the cool factor of the manufacturing process.

Nice! I have a Node 1.1 too but not a cadence sensor. Do you have their SpeedTrap sensor on your fork?

I was going to just get the speed trap that slips into the fork, but the LBS had a a Wahoo speed & cadence sensor on clearance for the same price. Figured since it was about half what the Bontrager version was, why not. Plus since this one reads off the back wheel instead of the front, it would work well for my wife if she gets a trainer.

Just ordered some parts and tools to replace worn-out parts and facilitate me cleaning and servicing other parts. As always, I try to replace any parts I take off my bike with new, lighter weight parts.

N-Gear chain catcher:

Ultegra 6700 11-18 cassette:

KMC X10L chain:

Park BBT-22 bottom bracket tool:

XLC crank arm extractor:

Nice. Just make sure the LTD is your size. The Ergonova is weird, the top is sized like outside-to-outside; only the drop is true to the size, center-to-center. If ride the hoods a lot, you may need to size up.

They work great and barely have to grip them at all. Not like I put much stress on them anyways as I only weigh 122 lbs (female)

These type of brakes came stock on my Specialized Dolce Sport 2011 and I have never had a problem with them.

Ultegra 6700 groupset on ebay. Part by part, most new, some lightly used. Already had the right shifter.
3T Ergosum Team bars
105 pedals

Just need a stem, cables/housing, and bar tape to complete the bike. Crossing fingers that hardware is all included and I don't need too many runs to the LBS.

On Friday I bought a 2009 BMC slc01 promachine, SRAM Force. This thing is insane. I have never ridden a bike that felt like it and pulled the trigger. Then, I stumbled upon a craigslist deal on a Leader v1 729 TRK that will be my new city/beater bike... I spent WAY too much money on Friday. Luckily, I had the support of my wife and was able to sleep in our bed all weekend, avoiding the futon treatment. With two new bikes in one day, I decided that it's new bike week!
