Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Put 23 miles on them this weekend. They seem to roll better than the OE Schwalbe’s. Soil easily, but cleaned up (rag with alcohol and purple power citrus cleaner) reasonably well first time out with a little effort. Time and milage will tell.

Got a sweet deal on a 5703 crankset & bottom bracket from Merlin Shimano 105 5700 Triple Chainset & Bottom Bracket | Merlin Cycles Final price, $103 (free shipping) The $150 I saved is well worth a bit of wait and it's a great upgrade from the FSA Vero crank that came stock.

Because the clamps are pretty far forward. This can put a lot of pressure on the rails, causing a crack. This doesn't mean a crack will happen, but the chances are increased. The saddle appears to be pointed down a fair amount as well. That has nothing to do with the seat post, more about how it was positioned.

Nice, was looking online at their closeouts last night for the Labor Day sale running right now. Too bad nothing ever in my size (small to XS).

Use se the find in store function to locate

this is a 56cm which they don't list on the website, but when you tried find in store was shown as in stock at one local store to me.

Needless as to say a phone call and a car drive later and it was in my trunk.

Why do the fronts look so stubby? They're super wide and short.

The left foot is a size 7 and its wider than a triple E. I tried buying two pairs, cant find something that wide that short. The right is a size 11. If you factor the cost of 2 pairs of shoes the price tag on custom for me anyway is a no brainer.

Set of Bontrager Race Shorts. Until today I was getting by on a cheap set of $30 shorts I found online. I know more $$ doesn't equal better comfort, but I'm guessing they will be nicer. Not to mention my wife mistakenly tossed my other ones in the dryer and they're a bit tight...

I was born with a club foot, which means the left foot was backwards. Custom isn't for everyone but my case is pretty extreme. Bont customs where 1K. If you bought 2 pairs of high end Sidi's it would roughly be the same. The Rocket 7's where 1500. A lot of money for shoes but what applied to me was that he can pretty much fix them, at a cost, anytime. In both case a full plaster last was made of my feet. The other problem I have with my club foot is the height of it. I did wear Sidi's in 2 sizes but couldnt ride more than 20 miles without severe pain in that foot. After I got the Bont's I have riden tons of metric centuries and 4 Imperials. To me best investment I have ever made.

Pretty excited to get them. I got colors to match my new Crumpton Type 5.

I'm excited to see them. Rocket7s never really stuck out to me style wise. I hope you get them sooner than later. Seems like it has been almost 2 full months?
