Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Just bought a Shimano CS-5700 11-25 cassette, as well as a spare Continental GP 4 Season (700x25) tire.

The wheels are PSIMET 50mm carbon clinchers. 24 spoke front and 28 rear, DT Comp spokes laced 2x. Novatec front hub, Powertap SL+ rear. Love 'em.

Now... if my 11 speed freehub conversion would arrive and I could actually ride it, I'd be REALLY happy.

And as if by magic!

Powertap 11 speed freehub and axel caps. Now for installation and redishing the wheel...

For those who don't know already, CRC has 10% off shimano components. Use "shim" in the promo field. I've just ordered a 105 5700 RD for the commuter and a pair of ultegra 6800 carbon pedals for the no.1 bike. I was never interested in carbon pedals but for $100 Oz....resistance was futile.

So last month my Bike Friday Pocket Rocket Pro came in. Spent the summer agonizing over the details for this bike. Main purpose was to be able to ride around New England and jump on the train as necessary. That works perfectly.

the bike mileage in your signature is rather precise , do you update it after each ride ?

The new ones are exceptional and really make my older pairs feel like poor people pants.
