Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I bought an N+1 today. Test rode a Cervelo S2 and liked it so much I bought it on the spot. They had to order the 2015 version (11sp 105) from the warehouse so I'll have the bike by next Friday.

Finally got a saddle i love as much as my last Specialized Toupe rbx. And got me back to my weight weenie ways. Bontrager Paradigm xxl. Nice to see these guys spend time on contact points where I really think they were being left behind. Also some winter riding gear, new jersey, bib tights, and a convertible jacket to vest (didn't really need a new jacket but I liked the color and the price was right)!

Awesome saddle! Seems like Treks version of the Toupe but only goes up to 148mm width.

That saddle worked about 100 times better than the Affinity that came on my Madone. Very good choice.

So far so good, went on shakedown ride today, quick 22 miles, had to stop to get tilt right but I think I'm close. I think the Affinity is more like the Toupe and the the Paradigm seems more like a Romin perhaps? This is definitely more curved than my Toupe is/was. Weird about the 148 though, I bought the 138 (med) width, whereas the Toupe was also med but somewhere around 142mm.

Thanks! I was fortunate enough to have the demo truck where I work for a couple of days so I rode both the Emonda and my current bike with both the affinity and the Paradigm for extended rides. The affinity felt very similar to my Toupe which I liked, but when I got on the Paradigm I felt like the curvature was maybe a little better. The affinity being flatter on the sides perhaps supported my sit bones better, but maybe I don't need that because the Paradigm definitely seemed to "disappear".

Like I said, I'm happy they're focusing on stuff like this. Being a pseudo partner by virtue of our Bike Park I've gotten the chance to try a lot of product. I really like the bikes but haven't always been a fan of the accessories. The new saddle is easily one of the most comfortable I've been on (The Fizik Aliante VSX that I bought didn't even last 60 miles now I have to sell it). Similarly I bought the new RXL 180 Convertible jacket and rode with it today, it's as comfortable and breathes better than my Giordana Silverline.

really, I thought the affinity felt nothing like a toupe, which I had on my Allez and was night and day better than the affinity.

There the lake CX402-X heat mouldable.
The width was what drew me towards them.
Had sidi ergo wires before they where a bit narrow.
But with the heat mouldable heal cup, you don't have to put hardly any pressure on the boa system to hold the shoes in place.

Same here. First ride today: 2hr on trainer felt much better. It's ugly though -- a total disaster on an Evo Super Six.

Mine came in early. I got it Wednesday. I got it mounted but haven't been on an extended ride yet. Sure feels good on a short ride though.
