Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

42 hours to make those shoes, sounds more like art as opposed to cycling gear. Hope those are comfortable.

New wheelset for 2015 Defy. 2 new Conti Tubes will be for either bike, and PRO Anodized Aluminum Bar Plugs for 2013 Defy.

Sun CR-18 polished rim, to go with my '70s-ish Campagnolo Record hub. Had to get my frame coldset to 126 mm, but maybe that's not exactly a 'purchase'.

Holy cow. $2000 plus dollars for shoes. They better last forever and feel like pedaling on clouds.

Yea, I was heading in another direction, and would have probably gotten the post deleted when the metaphors for clouds reared their ugly heads.

A mini-pump.

Nothing fancy, but I've never had one. Always rode with levers/tubes but never a pump LOL

Always rode with my buddy who had one. He's gone for the summer, so I'm doing most rides solo. Had to man up!

Also, after a nice ride, you want a pint. So, def. cycling related. Trying this because it was only $2.29 at Trader Joes, LOL. I didn't have the heart to try the $1 pint.

I suspected you were, but didn't know for sure. Some people have big bucks.

I would like to see an actual review on those shoes.

Not a fan of Thomson X-2 or X-4 stems. I cracked 2 X-4 stems at the 12 o'clock point where it clamps the steerer tube. Thomson replaced the first one, but after it happened again on the replacement, I lost confidence in that model. I wish the still sold Thomson Elite stems.

i guess it depends on how much money one has.

I wouldn't buy them either, but I'd still like to see a review.

Yep. I need it for the hub. Was on sale for the same price as the plastic Mavic tool and I remembered that I had like $13 in my paypal account so...

Time to do bearings and freehub on a pair of 2006 Ksyrium SL wheels.

I've wanted k-wing bars for a long time. Hoping they are as comfy as people say.

I have gone a little crazy with purchases lately, so I thought I would post them up! I got these Mercury M5 carbon wheels a few months ago. Then I ordered a full ultegra groupset of DI2. Just ask week I got my Garmin edge 1000! I have been able to put some miles on the bike the last few weeks and its been amazing!

Got a new Brooks B17 Standard and a Garmin Forerunner 735XT Bundle today. Well happy with both. Butt feels great as the saddle on my Scott Metrix 10 was a pain in the ass literally. The Garmin device compliments my 520 perfectly as i am starting some swimming in the open sea soon.
