Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

caad 8 frame value

thinking of selling my caad 8 frame with aero full carbon fork. seeing them going on ebay for 350ish with normal fork. other thing is that i got it nos about 6 months ago so it has very low miles.

a. does the fact that its pristine help it's value
b. is the aero fullcarbon fork a plus or minus
c. is the gloss black with black decals a coveted paint scheme?

"Disclaimer for mods" I do not want to sell this frame now or on this site. but I am CONSIDERING selling it locally.

a. yes
b. minus
c. most common color that people want is bare aluminum but that is also nice. It wont hurt or help the value really. If anything maybe slightly help.

Expect around $350ish like you see on ebay.

It totally depends on when you sell it. I was watching them go for around $350 on ebay when I sold mine and I think it ended up only going for around $220.

All i remember is that I was pissed at how low it went for when identical frames were selling for more. I think the thing that killed mine was that 2 or 3 popped up that all ended within 10hrs of mine and thus you play the supply and demand game.

Last October I bought a blue '05 Caad8 on ebay, a few scratches but in decent shape, Premium Slice fork, for $202 + $45 shipping. It was an odd size, though (63cm).

If I remember correctly, I got between $400-$450 out of mine a little of 2 years ago. It was pretty much pristine.

sheeeyit, do you guys think I overpaid for my CAAD7 Optimo (the team issue Saeco frame) in mint condition a year back? $500 for frame/fork, headset, and SI cranks.

Mint, with a rare/distinct paintjob, maybe not.

But you did pay extra for the paint.

Cannondale was offering my bro-in-law a replacement frame, brand new for $500 from the factory. $350 on ebay sounds about right.
