Don't worry it's back to semi-showroom condition. When I really clean it up tonight it will be perfect.
I'm riding again tomorrow. That's why I got the stupid bike. To RIDE it.

Well it's gotten the warm welcome you get when riding in the winter here in the Northeast. What a frigid ride this morning, man it's been a not so pleasant time to ride.

Good grief PCad. Even I have a 'B' bike for the slop. And I actually know how to wrench on the bloody things.

If you ever find out first hand in La Habra, we're all in trouble!

It was dry outside too. But the bike path had coatings of snow in the shady areas, hence the Nanook of the North coating on the S2. Had I known that I would have taken another bike out. But I do like the S2 : ).
It was friggin brutal today. My schwang was schtinging. 25ºF and a nice 25 mph headwind. Ouch.

The headwinds were ridiculous this morning, definitely one of those mornings where the motivation to go fast came from wanting to be home sooner rather than later.

You gonna eat that?
You want a workout in the cold? You want to really train? Don't worry about speed, just getting tough miles in?
Ride an English 3-speed. I guarantee when you get back on the Cervelo you will FLY.

I just learned the conditions out in the PNW are about to go to hell again. It was all nice, sunny, and dry. We will be going back back to our regularly scheduled programming of soggy, wet, cold, cloudy crap on sunday. My bike will be back to getting greased daily and still going to hell from the sand and water. Oh and all of my bike gear will not be dry for the next 2 months.
Oh well, I will ride until something detonates. Replace and repeat. Then again my bike is worth about as much as Pcad's wheels, so I have that going for me.

Abuse?!!?! That's usage man. People who call that abuse are posers. It's like the photographers that see my cameras and how scratched they are and ask me "Why do you abuse your cameras?". I always reply "Abuse? I use them, hence why my images are better than yours".
Keep up the good work dude.

This is the bike I usually ride in those conditions. Please note the front and rear fenders.
Again, the roads were dry. The bike path (the only bicycle route in Orange County that's flat and wind sheltered, I was on it today for 12 miles of a 25 mile ride) had light snow accumulations in the shady spots.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go and re-detail the Cervelo.

How do you clean a drive train after that abuse?
I took my Giant out for a few rides this week (nothing close to what you put your bike through), and even after a thorough drive train cleaning (including removing the cassette and soaking in a degreaser) I can still hear the sand grinding away in my chain and cassette.
It's driving me nuts!

Since when is a Cervelo "sh*t that we all get"?
Or is this one of those "youth" things where "bad" really means "good" and I am clueless because I am older than dinosaurs (meaning I am slightly older than Pcad). I have ALWAYS thought that "swag" referred to "sh*t that we all get" from the trade show crap that was given away. How is it that on BF the terminology has been turned inside-out to mean the opposite? Is it a "bad" = "good" thing and I haven't been clued in because I am older than dirt?

Pcad, riding a mere Cervelo with mere Dura-ace in Crap weather, just ain't hardcore any longer:
From the "No matter how heavy with ice - SR 11 just works" thread over at weight weenies.

That's just not right..... how much time and effort to get something like that Colnago mechanically sound again?
