Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It's simple

I have a solution for pharding after reflecting on his Cervelo rants. He did make an awful lot of fuss right here recently about the S3 and Cervelo. Pharding claims to be wealthy, and if that's the case, why not just buy the Cervelo S3 and ride it for a year? If you're not in love with it, sell it on eBay, take the $2K+ hit and buy a different bicycle? Bear in mind that I have yet to meet a person who bought a Cervelo, rode it for a while, hated it, and sold it. Mostly everybody loves the bikes.

Or is that too straightforward?

Discuss.

It is said that wealthy people didn't get that way by giving their money away. Like blood from a turnip with some of them...

Your bike probably looks better in person. But from the industry pictures I have seen it's butt. Your quick snap shots are way below average. Take some flattering photos, and get back to me.

The bike is very cool. If you don't like it you are far less likely to steal it.

I tend not to purchase bikes based on how well they "photograph"... mostly because the view of the bike will be obscured by my fatty fat fat fat.

I think that is a really open-minded idea you have, your concern for PH's money is to be admired. I think he should go ahead and buy one, try it, but once he had it long enough that he can go ahead and say he hates it, he should give it to a Cervelo lover on BF.

Actually I think pharding is alanbikehouston's evil twin, based on a careful analysis of their writing style.

And now that I think of it, don't they both own Madone's?

There may be some Tyler Hamilton angle here...hmmmm.....

You have a very nice bike uncle patencad. I was just being overly critical, because that is how I roll.

Just one more rude comment. If you wanted sexy, Pinarello, if you wanted sexy & aero Felt AR. Ok I'm done. (for now)

Nobody is ever allowed to say, or type, "mission accomplished". It is forever tainted.

Thor Husvold rides a Cervelo. That is change we can believe in. Yes we can!

Thor rides an S3, not an S2. He is dead to me now, as is C. Sastre. But the other Cervelo Test Team boys (the Johnny Lunchpail pack dogs like me) were on the Working Man's Cervelo, the S2.

You are old, so it probably (hopefully) doesn't matter. Red and black is so 07-08. White and black! That is change we can believe in. At least you weren't duped into the white with the olympic rings. Allthough solid white would have been libidinous.

Is it simple, or is it complicated? Make up your mind!
