Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ultegra Rear Hub

Is the 2009 FH-6600 Ultegra Rear Hub compatible with 8-speed cassettes? I see conflicting information on this. The manual that comes with the hub says 9/10 speed. Online it says 9/10 speed in one section 8/9/10 in another.

As stated above, it will be no problem. You can even put a 7-speed cassette with a spacer on there, too.

They are great hubs and you will be very happy.

Will I need a spacer with the 8 speed? Or can I put the 8 speed on as packaged?

No spacer needed with the 8 speed, total width is the same. Spacing between gears is different.
