Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

found a Cannondale ST600 with campagnolo comoponents... what's it worth?

amazing thing happened today. I found, for damn near free at a thrift store, a Cannondale ST600 (looks like touring / road bike) with a nice set of Campy wheels (8speed) with campy hubs. Campy rear deraileur, and campy STI shifters. the front deraileur is still the shimano Mountain LX , matching the crank arms, and it has 3 chainrings in front designed for touring. i wish i had a picture, but it also had some pretty great center pull brake system (well, maybe a little gadgety, but i like them)- not the calipers themselves, they are just Deore LX, but instead of the cable between them that pulls up at the middle, there's two little rods coming up from each side towards each other that can be adjusted, that then have a connecting piece where the cable attaches and pull up, so that, essentially, if one caliper is closer to the rim than the other, they are easily adjusted.

SO, big question of the day, because really, the campy parts are definatly not original and probably worth a bit. what do folks think it's worth?

oh yeah, there is one negative: on the top tube near the headset there is a tiny dent. really very small, maybe a third of an inch wide and hardly dented in.

the real question is how much did you pay for it?

and this thread is useless without pics.
