Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

If I had only ONE new tire I would...

Currently I have two Michelin lithon tires on my training wheel set. The front is in really good shape, and rear is getting quite squared off. I have really liked the lithon, so I will more then likely keep buying them. The question is, Should I put the new on the front, and rotate the used front to the back, or just replace the back. Thanks

Never rotate tires. Bad to have a tire that can fail in the front.

Despite the predictions of dread and doom by the safety squad, I just replace the tire that needs to be replaced.

Common practice and common sense.

BTW: Why is common sense not so common?

Just ditch the bike and buy a unicycle and you'll never have to worry about this again.

As for me -- once my rear tire begins to show noticeable wear, I swap it out w/ the front tire.

Front tire=large determinant in bike handling.
