Should I jump on the Cervelo bandwagon?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Should I jump on the Cervelo bandwagon?

found this on craigslist.

51 cm Aluminum frame (55 cm c-c top tube, 47 cm c-c seat tube).
Brass shim included for seatpost (but seatpost not included).
Bicycling Magazine called it one of the "fastest and most-storied frames".
Normal scratches from being used, no crashes.
Check out Cervelo for more info at:
https://www.cervelo.com/

I'd buy it. The value of older Cervelos can only go up with the cable routing issues on new ones.

An old Cervelo aluminum frame wouldn't excite me too much (I own 2 Cervelo's) but the price is fair.

seriously, what's the draw of an aluminum cervelo?? the shape of the tubes look ghastly.. oh ya i remember when people were briefly into HUGE aero downtubes that don't do anything but provide a nice surface to plaster a logo.. that came and went long time ago.. looks heavy compared to a cannondale.

I liked the way my Soloist Team rode. It felt more fun that the various bland carbon frames I tried at the same time. <shrug>

Great bike, but +1 on the seatpost. Looks like you shouldn't have any trouble picking one up though:

Once upon a time, people asked the same question about the Trek bandwagon.

Who will be the NEXT Cervelo?
