the first shave of the season...
i think we've finally reached the equinox of spring temperatures to winter temps in new york, and after a ride where i rode leg warmers out of embarassment for my hairy legs, i figured it was time for the clippers and razor. i'd forgotten how lovely fresh shaved legs feel on your bed sheets. ah, spring. anyone else recently shed the winter fur?

i really cant think of one good reason to shave during the knickers and longs time of the year. i keep up on my other manscaping, but the legs are given a respite to repopulate.

I've written about why I shave enough times... let's just say that if you only shave because you care what you look like or what other people think of you, then you might not shave when your legs are covered up.
Yes, I live in a warmer climate but that doesn't mean we don't also cover up when it's cold.... remember we are pansies, it's all about what you are used to.

i wasnt being facetious, just actually curious. for me, it keeps me cooler because the hair trapped the sweat, and the road grime factor that gets caked in. neither really apply when im sporting the leg warmers.

I shave primarily because I like how it feels, but also for massages (manual and via electrical stimulation), for crash cleanup, and vanity (I like how it looks). But mainly because I like how it feels.

I figure the winter hair helps insulate on the cold rides with tights or warmers. My theory didn't help me from quiting a ride on Sun. after 25 miles. Snow in Seattle. Now that's an anomaly. Otherwise I start shaving in the spring. That term "spring" is very much open to interpretation here.
