Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Summer in Syracuse!

The temp hit 55 yesterday which felt like mid-summer here in the land of the Orange, so I got my new 4.7 Madone out for the first time. Inauspicious start, had some difficulty snapping my old cletes into my new ultegra pedals and had to wear my daughter's powder blue gloves because one of mine has turned up missing, but once rolling, no worries . Biggest challenge was avoiding the sand piles that everyone was sweeping into the street.

Don't let anyone try to tell you that carbon doesn't feel hugely different from a 25 year old aluminum!
