Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

HED Jet 6 or Zipp 404

I am a semi-competative roadie, I just purchased my dream bike and I want to upgrade to a fast wheel set. I know the Zipp wheels are the standard but I am having trouble with the 2500 dollar price tag. Would HED jet 6 with ceramic bearings be a good alternative or even the H3?
Sincerely, Alan

Why would you get cheap on wheels for your "dream bike"?

Hed wheels are excellent first of all. Second, look around before you spend 2500 on zipps. They can be had for much, much cheaper.

+1, I see 'em for ~1600 all the time. Here and here.

Clinchers or tubulars?
If tubulars then the Zipps are a decent choice, although very expensive for the price. Try williams, Soul, Edge or everyone's favorites the Reynolds DV46.
Don't waste your money on the zipp clinchers. Very heavy for the price.
