Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Best floor pump

Need a good new floor pump and haven't bought one in years. I would like some opinions on what is a good one out there. Some things I would like to have on the new one are, a gauge that is at top and a thingy to hold ball and bladder attachments. I saw the Topeak Joe Blow Pro and it looks good. Any opinions?

Ihave the Joe Blow Sport and it works great for me. This pump does not have the gauge at the top but down below. I can see it fine. Also the Sport is $20 cheaper than the Pro.

I own two Joe Blow Pro pumps. MSRP is a bit steep; definitely look for a sale. The SmartHead on one of the pumps self-destructed after 4-5 months of usage. Called Topeak and they sent me a new one for the cost of postage ($3.95 or something like that). Would have been free if I'd been able to find my receipt. Pump works great for Presta valves and has lots of nice design features (gauge at top, comfy handle, air release button, long hose, etc). Schrader valves don't seem to fit the SmartHead quite as easily as Presta. Given the head failure, I'm always a little gentle when fitting the SmartHead to Schrader valves.

I have a Joe Bloe Pro also and it is a great pump. Any pump that Topeak makes would probably be a good pump.

Well,
This pump I bought on a huge discount was very controversial a ways back. Carbon fiber pump and it works amazingly well. I wouldn't pay the $200 retail, but on Chainlove, it was $80. Great pump and the coolest looking one around.

This one seals over the valve without the need to pull up on a little diddly-wop.

I didn't like it at first but now I love it. All it needs is like half an inch of valve which worked well with my ac420's. It also has a pressure release button.

Now after looking closer I'm leaning toward the Sprint because of the Twinhead. I have found some bad reviews on the Smarthead. Thanks everyone for the replies.

instead of making a new thread, bump

anyone have an opinion on this pump? It should look like a knock off of something.

It's just too expensive to buy a topeak or specialized pump in toronto since floor pumps cost a lot to ship from the states, and all the shops around here don't have a good pump for under $50.
