Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bigger Crank for bike with compact crank?

Recently ive been thinking about building my own bike and was thinking about purchasing a Felt F5 SL frame *heres a link for reference*

https://www.bicyclestore.com.au/Felt-...-pr-23051.html

this bike bike originally comes with a compact crankset, and the front derailleur is a braze-on

So it is possible to fit a 54-39 crank set on it?

Thanks for the help

You will need to raise the front derailleur by about 8mm. If the braze-on mounting tab has that much adjustment left on it, there's no reason why you can't fit a crankset with a 54 ring on it.

Has it got that much adjustment? I can't tell from the picture.

Nice bike...
