Interestingly, they're not so short and shallow compared to many, many others out there. That's one of the reasons I didn't try them when I was looking for short reach and drop bars a couple of years ago. Sorry, that's not helpful!

Any certain one fsa compactbar. do you have any pix's of one on a bike? Looking for the pix's because you can tell a whole lot more about a bar once it is on a bike. thanks

I just put some 36cm Salsa short and shallow bars on my bike and love them so far. I wish I had gotten them on the day I got the bike...
Sorry, I don't have any pics.

My local shop is pushing the short and shallow. They say they have a lot of good responces to the bar. The fsa and Easton are more compact than the short and shallow. I have the easton ea 30 on another bike and like it but the Fsa also looks like a really good design.

I've got the Salsa Poco's on 2 bikes. I like 'em a lot.

The poco's look like they run down and never turn back to put your hands in the drops? The short and shallow look very comfortable.availpunk9 any reason for using them on your commuter bike or just comfort reasons.

That can be fixed by adjusting the angle. I have 'em turned up pretty far.

Question joel? If you adjust them downward do you loose your straight line to your shifters. It looks like if adjusted down they would have an angle down into the shifters? thanks

I got these based on recommendations from commuter forum. I didn't want a bar with a deep drop for day to day use. I went through 3 different shifter/bar positions. Now, they are very comfy. Plus I got these for ~$10 from craigslist. I figured it wouldn't be a big deal if I didn't like them.

Well, yeah, the angle will go down. But there's a fair bit of wiggle room. I don't spend much time in the drops, but when I do, I really like the angle these are at. They don't cause my wrist to bend and the anatomic bend hits the middle of my palm where it belongs. I have small hands and can still easily reach the brakes.
