    Sinn's "Pcad Rant"

Well, its done. I went out yesterday and bought the new frameset.

Look 595 origin in team colors.

It was between this, the Scott Addict, Specialized sl2, and Cervelo R3sl.

The Addict was out because I could not get their integrated bottom bracket to work with my Sram cranks. Only Shimano will work. They do not yet have spacers that will make other cranks compatible, as with the BB30 models. So that one is out. The non-integrated bottom bracket models seemed to flimsy in the bottom bracket for my taste. In fact, it seemed comparable to my Ridley Damocles.

I could just not find any good deals on the Cervelos. I'd have to pay import costs, etc., and the bike just doesn't have that chemistry with me to make me really fight for it.

The Specialized ... well ... I almost pulled the trigger on this one. It is a really stiff, comfortable, and light bike. The geometry is good for me (it is, in many ways, isomorphic with but a little more aggressive than the Look). And it does look good. But, what can I say, its just NO LOOK.

The Look, however, is a completely, perfectly beautiful bike. It has everything I want -- good torsional and even better bottom bracket stiffness, just enough for all-around racing, good ride quality, relatively lite, and tough, with a company that has a reputation (at least with the shop I am buying it through) for being very generous with warranty issues.

The frame should come in on Thursday. And it should be built Friday. I'll post picks over the weekend.
3 days and counting ... (now I know how Pcad felt waiting for his cervo).

Until then, join me in discussing how awesome this bike is!

Or how I made a huge mistake not getting one of the other three models that were on my shortlist.

    Terrible thread title.

Great frame choice, especially if the fit's right.

I like it because it doesn't have the horrible cable routing Pcad's bike has.

And you just earned some extra points with the Grounds keeper Willy reference. Nice work.
Some people are just like Slinky's. Not really good for anything but they bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

best choice by far. i had a minor problem with a frame and they gave me a brand new, better frame virtually no questions asked. Ride quality is sublime.

Eeek! Sorry, I thought that the import would be clear: a Pcad-like rant about how I bought a bike but can't ride it yet. Not a rant about Pcad.

This is no offense to the owners of the other brands here, but you simply picked the better bike. Actually, the bike is quite a bit above the rest. You are going to love it, especially if you race it. I have a 595 Ultra and cannot think of a better bike for just about anything and everything except 5+ hr rides. It does not feel harsh until them when it begins to tell you to get off it!! At least mine does

Post pictures of it built up. Also, add them to the "post your Look thread".

Again, congratulations on the new bike. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine.
Arguing with ignorant people is an exercise in futility. They will bring you down to their level and once there they will beat you with their overwhelming experience.

The origin should also be more compliant than the Ultra.

You all should be sick of seeing my bike after a few weeks ... or months, I don't know, it is a beautiful bike.

Unless you're a very powerful rider, you won't feel the difference between the Origin and Ultra. That's not to say the Origin is harsh. I have a 595...and it's really quite confortable without sacrificing anything I can discern in the performance department. The only knock I've read against the 595 were some seatpost issues that they've gotten figured out...and a minor complaint among weight weenies that it's not light enough. Well, let me tell you...mine comes in at 14.4 lbs with pretty average weight wheels (1500-1600 grams)...and heavy tubes and tires. I'm thinking of getting lighter wheels and light tubes/tires...should bump this bike to around 13.5 lbs or less. I don't know about you...but to me, that's stupid light!

Other than the fact you are likely unworthy of such an outstanding frame....OK...I established the correlation between you and Pcad replete with his cable routing which reflects his personality.
    Fantastic frame...

You are correct in that you won't feel the difference. I am yet to hear anyone say they can for that matter. You won't tell a performance difference either. Heck, Thor Hushov used to ride the Origin!

Again, don't read too much into my comment about the comfort. That DOES NOT come in until about hr #5, which in itself would bring some pain in the ars regardless of what you ride! That is the case for me at least, and I can tell you it seems to be the same for quite a few people at least in the WW site that have mentioned exactly the same thing.

By all means, just build it, ride it, and enjoy it.
