How do a Motobecane and a Scattante Compare?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

How do a Motobecane and a Scattante Compare?

It seems perhaps more likely that these two bike brands have been tried out by the same riders. I'm genuinely curious.

I can only speak to Scattante. My TT frame (road geometry) has a really PITA seat clamp. I had to epoxy my seat post in it. Otherwise the ride is good, much better than my previous aluminum frames.

depends - my motobecane messenger was outstanding. awesome. would not hesitate to go there again. Le Champion SL was just ok - tad flexy actually.

I'm guessing that the 2 brands are very similar in quality/value for the price. Of course, there are a lot more local bike shops carrying Scat bikes, so you can test ride and swap components before you buy.

With Scattante you get support from your local performance. You may get slightly better value on the moto (haven't checked it out recently so i'm not sure) but usually there's no local dealer.

The Motos are often a relabeled Fuji model from a few years previous. Not sure what the history behind the Scattante frames are. I've seen both on rides and both look to be reasonably well made rides.
