Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Is Versus really showing some of Paris-Roubaix?

Look at https://www.versus.com/schedule and look at Sunday April 12 (choose "day" not primetime). It shows Paris-Roubaix at 5pm-7pm! Is this really true?

Last week the LaCrosse game that was on before went into overtime and they just cut the Tour of Flanders show down to a smaller time slot. Hopefully that won't happen again.

It shows how much interest there is in cycling when a LaCroose game takes precedent.

It was the American Le Mans Series that was on not lacrosse.

MF-ers! How dare they do this the month or so that I'll be without cable while my land lord figures something out with the cable company.

Anyone know of any online streaming?

They've covered it every year for at least three years. What's the big surprise?

I thought I saw something odd during the coverage of the Tour of Flanders last week. At a commercial break, they had a graphic about the Paris-Roubaix coverage starting at 4 pm Eastern. I was particularly interested, since that meant I might be able to watch the race before the family dinner. However, they later had a graphic listing the coverage beginning at 5 pm, which is also what Phil Liggett said on-air. The Versus website lists the coverage as being from 5 to 7 pm, but it may be worth recording that extra hour just in case.

well, you need an HD receiver and HD service to view it in HD anyway and if you have HD service you probably get Versus in regular and HD channels. 256 and 717 for me.

Yes, I know. But my question is: are they showing the same thing on their HD and non-HD channels at the saame time?

My DirecTV guide shows them as the same.

5-7pm? I thought it took more than 2 hours to cover all those cobbles....

Still, better than nothing (the other option up until a couple years ago). This, combined with NBC Universal's coverage of the Basque Country and I seem to be getting more cycling than baseball these days....can't complain about that.
