Rim Depth Question/Opinion
I have a set of 27 mm Kinlin rims laced to white industries hubs. I had a mishap, and the rear wheel appears to need replacing. I have the opportunity to pick up a Mavic Cosmic Carbone rear wheel at a ridiculous price. I've read all the carbone reviews, and they seemed to be loved by most with the main complaint being that they are heavy.
My question is whether anyone is running a similar setup. I didn't know if I would have bike handling problems with such a shallow rim up front compared to the deeper in the rear. I know some have run a zipp 303/404 combo, but those are closer in depth than the combo I'm considering. I'm a larger rider 190 lbs if that makes a difference. The LBS said it won't be a problem at all, but i'm looking for a few more opinions before I pull the trigger.

Less rim depth up front is better for control than more.
I think you're too preoccupied with the notion that the rim depths have to match.

That is exactly what I wanted to hear. I've never run different depth rims before. These are going to be my race wheels for crits and road races. I'm leaning toward giving up a little weight for a little aero and stiffness. I understand that the primary aero advantage comes from the front wheel, but I figured the carbone in the rear would help to some degree.
