Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It was only about 4500 feet of climbing over two days but seeing that my "climbing" usually consists of 70 foot drawbridges it's not bad. I grew up riding these hills in Virginia and of northern California on my mountain bike but after living in south Florida for 12 years it was nice to finally get some "climbing" in.

We need to coordinate our rides better...lol.

I rode from Lincoln to Bartlett via Bear Notch Road and back. It was great, though the sign in my photo looks a little worse for wear than yours.

Nice.. They were installing the new sign while I was there. I actually have another shot of me with the ranger who built it. You'll notice that there are no bolts in the bolt holes haha he had to hold it up while we took the pictures.

How high is a mountain? Am I going to post a pic and be ridiculed for merely riding on "hills" (which are definitely mountains to someone from Michigan).
