fsa gossamer and ultegra cranks advice
I have a line on some FSA gossamer cranks, I think its a sealed hub/compact hub (not exactly sure what that means) for $40, read some reviews online that complain of left crank arm failure and really soft rings. They are apparently barely ridden and I would be putting them on an old italian made 10 speed that I have cruiserfied. Sick of the Cotter Pin! Also a set of Shimano ultegra's for $40 and I Know they are good but there is no BB involved. I'm going to look at the gossamer and see if it will even fit ont eh bike but I was curious about the bad reviews. just wanted some opinions.

I've had an FSA Gossamer crank since late 2005 and the crank itself has been fine. The BB not so much. Just swapped it out the BB with a Dura Ace BB7900 and it's a vast improvement over the FSA. Can't really comment on the Ultegra crank if it's a newer model but over the years I've never had a problem with any level of Shimano's components.

thanks
thakns steve, I don;t even know if it will fit on my weird old italian bike. The seller says he has another old BB, maybe I'll go with that if it fits. Thanks for the heads up.
