Heel pad protection
My shoes don't have replaceable heel pads. I know Sidi's and some others do, but that's not the question at hand.
Got any ideas for either a) protecting the rubber pad that's back there now to either ****** or prevent wear; or b) replacing the rubber pad once it's worn with something just as effective?
i can't believe r-e-t-a-r-d is censored.

Maybe you could pop a few rivets in there to help things stay together longer... my north waves have a steel rivet that I think is there to limit wear.
You also could make a new pad out of shoe goo or something similar.

You can get liquid rubber at Home Depot. I'm probably going to put it on the heels of my road shoes as well. Ask in the paint department for the stuff you dip tools into.

That stuff is usually latex or something like that, it will increase grip a lot, but not very durable.
