Power Tap / 705 Noob Question

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Power Tap / 705 Noob Question

I just added a Powertap Pro+ to my riding. I've got the Garmin 705 and the powertap working together and reading / recording the data. every second.

The Garmin training center software doesn't seem to display power. How can I look at my power data? Do I need to use another program? Suggestions please. Thanks.

Thanks, I'll try that out when I get home. The link looks good too, I would not have found it as I rarely venture into "Racing" land.

The Power Agent only works with the PowerTap Cervo computer. WKO+ is nice but there is a fee to use it. A free one that is very popular is Sport Tracks. Give it a look.

WKO is rad, i'd get that if your using power - $100 is worth it. (i think)

also check out "training and racing with power" book, it's great as well.

enjoy!

Poweragent works with the 705 but it wont recognize and download the data in the 705. You have to find the data in the Garmin folder, find the ride, and import it. I'm still getting over the learning curve...

I'll check out Sport Tracks.

I'm reading and re-reading that book now. Good book. Seem to be the current bible of PT training / racing.

I'll look at WKO but I'm hoping I don't have to spend more money right now. Poweragent is free and it shows a lot of data. I just started working with it and am struggling a bit still, normal learning curve. Trying to find out if it tracks the laps from the garmin.....

If you have a Mac by the way, can't use WKO or most of the other software. You CAN still use the Garmin's and Saris's softwares though, but as pointed out already, you have to use them separate.

Maybe one day the people at WKO will figure out a way to make the software available to the people that use a Mac like myself. I would be all over it in a heartbeat.
