Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The Cervelo P1 is cheaper than the Trek Equinox 7, but comes with Ultegra instead of 105.

The Madone 5.5 ($4,600) and Cervelo R3 ($4,900) both come equipped with Force, but I think that most would say that the R3 is a superior enough frame to merit the $300 difference.

I just don't see how Cervelos are supposed to be massively overpriced.
Don't look at components. Look at frames.

The S3 would be the same level as the Madone Red (used in 6 series Madone's). S2 would be more along the line of the 5 series.

People that look at components when comparing bikes, well, it's a tip off.

Not if you are riding a Cervelo.

Note that Saxo Bank got slower when they went to Specialized and they lost to the "Test Team"...

So if it's that big of a deal...

C'mon...here in the Think Tank it's all about the bike. The riders are all secondary.

Look at Saxo.

She has something to do with Botox. Apparently that has had an impact on her memory. It's about to be refreshed.

Well then we should take the Madone 5.2 with black carbon, $4,070, and the S2, $3,900. (Same components, but of course that doesn't matter).

But no one pays retail for a Trek. Everyone pays retail for a Cervelo, because of the "hype," deserved or not.

Is this supposed to be some type of satire, or are you just fabricating lies on the internet?

The comparisons originally provided were not within the same frame family. BTW...you are going on MSRP on Trek (for example, we sell that 5.2 you mentioned for less than the Cervelo you mentioned)...unless you are an idiot, you don't charge MSRP.

I never said that Cervelo was overpriced, or even too pricey. My point was you were comparing apples and oranges.

BTW...with the Trek you can choose one of five frame colors...four of which in Project One with 7 day delivery. Same price as the production bike.

If you want to be a glib smart@$$, at least have some knowledge of what you are talking about.

I paid $5K for my S2 (10% off). Not a huge discount, but not 100% of retail either.

As much business as you do with those guys, you earned a discount.

Based on my limited experience and research, it would appear that Cervélo bikes are as well designed and manufactured as any other top range bike on the market. Compared to other top end bikes, Cervélo bikes seem to neither inexpensive nor expensive.

It would appear that a lot of people really like the Cervélo brand and just as many or more dislike the brand.

Personal bias aside, are there any valid technical reasons to not like Cervélo bikes?

Apparently they do nothing for your penis size.

My only beef with Cervelo bikes is this: if I'm going to pay $5k for a bike, it damn well better look like it was painted by someone other than some freshman in a local vo-tech autobody class. Drips, runs, overspray, etc are expected on Wal-Mart bikes, NOT on uber-expensive performance bikes. If they spent an extra $50 per frame on a quality paint job, then I'd be on board 100%.

if you ride your bike long enough, it has the opposite effect on penis size.
