I think I need a new saddle
I am the kind of guy who can not sit on a metal folding chair for more than 5 minutes. Folks say I have little or no ass. Presently I am riding a Specialized Alias
Thinking of something with Gel. Any suggestions. Has anyone tried saddles from Cobb Cycling?

Money spent trying to find the right combo here can add up to big $$$.
Good quality bibs can make a huge difference. Assos is probably the best but also very expensive.
Trial and error is the way to go - try and demo as suggested by botto.
Saddles many pro's use are:
Fizik Arione/Aliante, Prologo Scratch, Selle San Marco Regal / Rolls, Selle Italia Flite.
I'd look at these first as these guys spend lots of time on bikes and they want to be comfy. Weight does not matter with these, comfort is the priority. It's interesting to note that basically no riders that use specialized bikes ride an alias or toupe.
If you don't race some of the brooks saddles may be worth a look too.
I personally love the Regal and use a prologo scratch nack and it's the best i've ever ridden(for me)

second on trying different saddles. I went through four before my current, and put plenty of miles on each one. The one light one that I liked the look of was just starting to feel ok, or at least to not feel "wrong", after 500 miles but then I got a Bontrager Inform RL to try, and its been perfect from the first ride. I don't even think about it, which is the idea I guess.

specialized alias is pretty good, but give it time to break in.
the hammock effect from a new one compared to a broken in one is night and day.

Gel isn't necessarily the answer. If you do a search on the Alias saddle you'll see that a large majority of the BF cyclists prefer the non gel alias.

Avoid any saddle with a lot of gel, bad idea in the long term.
I ride a Fizik Aliante, it's pretty popular.
For $75 Competitve cyclist will ship you a box of saddles to try for a week.
