Squeek in the BB/crank?
My crank is developing a squeek. It's an FSA CK-C8681CC, 53/39T, crank and FSA MegaExo BB. They have ~400 miles on them. Is this a cause for concern? Should I have them maintained or is this common?
Not sure because I often hear other biker's cranks squeek a bit also.

I understand your bike is new, but are you sure the squeak is coming from the BB?
Just recently on my Spec Allez as well as a few years ago on my Trek 1000 I thought I had BB issues but in both cases the culprit was a pedal. On my Allez, I switched to some generic pedals I had lieing around which proved that the click was pedal related.
Just a thought....

I have a FSA MegaExo BB on my motobecane. It creaks when I stand up and mash the pedals after 600 miles. From all the bikesdirect threads Ive read, its popular to bash the crappy bb that BD uses on all their bikes. The bottom bracket is crap. We both need to replace ours.

agreed with the FSA BB being junk.
I had one stock on my bike. It started creaking pretty bad, with less than 400 miles on it.
I took it to the local Bianchi dealer, the BB was toasted, and they strongly suggested i replace it with a shimano. I did... The new one is great.

Ahhhh, had that fear. Love my bike but that's one of the compromises they took.
Should I force Performance Bike to just replace the BB? I think I'll at least point out the issue.
