Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Maybe somewhat unusual riding place, but hey, it's empty because I-80 was flooded that week.

The picture isn't working. Is this in Lexington, Missouri? I ride that area all the time. I'm guessing this was a pic of the old Lexington 13 bridge?

On the Blue Ridge Parkway, May 2008, north of Doughton Park. I took a chance that a bike could get through, and it worked. I had 3-4 miles all to myself.

Yes!

This may be the single most enjoyable thread I have seen in my years of membership. I will have to get some pics up soon.

Cheers,

That's Mt. Steni. Rises to about 6500' less than 20 miles from the Mediterranean beaches of Evia.
