Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My New Ride!

Hi All,

Mostly a lurker on the board but I thought I would take a second to show off my new ride.. Well, mostly new. I bought it 2 months ago but have been to lazy to post it. Below are the build details:

Cervelo RS
SRAM Force group
3T Funda Fork
3T carbon seat post
Fizik Arione saddle (Titanium rails)
Ritchey WCS stem 110 MM
Ritchey WCS carbon bars 44cm
Speedplay Zero pedals
Mavic Ksyrium SL Premium wheels (Paid extra for the bling)
Conti GP 4000 tires
Elite water bottle cages
Fizik saddle bag (clip on)

So far I am really liking this bike. My old bike was a 2007 Trek 5.9 Madone and I could tell the diffrences from the 2 right away. First, the Cervelo seems to be a twitchier than the Madone.. Which suprised me as I thought it would be a bit more stable with the longer head tube (20 MM higher). Other than that, this bike is superior to the Madone in terms of stiffness, weight and acceleration.

In closing, I know there is not much saddle to bar clearance. I have a neck issue witch limits how low I can go on the bars... Not to mention that I am not the most flexible person in the world

Nice... what size is it? The longer chainstays on the RS should also add to it's stability.

FWIW, my ksyrium sl premiums were not as premium as mavic suggests - several broken spokes on the rear drive side in a short amount of time sealed their fate as back up wheels. I wasn't impressed - hopefully yours will hold up better. They did ride nice when they weren't exploding on me though.

it's a 58. The ksyrium's have held up nicely so far. I know there is not much of a diffrence between the SL and the Premium's other than I thought they looked better on the bike. They ride very nice and I hope I do not run into the same issues

Nah, I am just a VMI Buyer. Nothing fancy.

The whole build was 3,800. Which was not bad as I sold my Trek for 2k.

my saddle has a slight angle as well. i don't care if it offends the aesthetics of a few (sorry botto ), being able to feel my man bits after a 90 minute crit is significantly more important to me.

So how are you protecting the head tube or fork from the cable housing rub?
