Question about my first flat
I was riding today and got my first flat after ~700 miles on my new bike. I checked the rear tire and I believe I found the gash. However, the hole is in the inner wall of the tube. How is this possible? Also, I only had a single C02 cartridge so I wasn't able to inflate the new tube fully. When I hopped back on the bike, the rear wheel felt bumpy. Is this because of the under-inflated tube?

Probably a spoke poking through the rim tape, or just crappy rim tape in general. Had the same happen to me yesterday when I Was riding home. Didn't hit a pothole, or run over anything sharp, my tire just blew out. Walked the rest home, replaced the tube when i got back, pumped it up to 100, left it there for about 5 mins before the next tube blew out.
I had checked the inside of the tires already, and looked for any spokes poking through, but couldn't find any, so I'm just going to assume that it was the little indentations that the crappy rim tape allowed for. Getting that tape replaced at the shop today, hopefully thats all it is..

I just taped up my first two wheels a couple days ago. I filled up the tubes and held them in the air in victory, immediately one tube popped. Next day I was sitting downstairs and all of a sudden ai hear pssssssssss. I did a crap job with the rim tape on both wheels.
I got new velox clothe tape and it is much better than the stuff that was sent by BWW. Covers everything very nicely, makes a big difference.
