Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

this is dumb, you can only choose from like 10 riders per category. someone find a better site.

It actually forces you to put together a team that would somewhat resemble an actual tour team, by forcing you to go with categories, as oppossed to 9 GC contenders.

Like a fantasy football team where you only get to play one quarterback, so many receivers, etc.

Seems like a reasonable approach to me.

That's fine, but if I think Ryder Hesjedal is going to win the GC why shouldn't I be able to choose him? This just dumbs it down to the 10 top names in each category, no dark horses.

any rider can get points for any scoring category.

which "dark horse" are you gunning for?

You can still pick him, you just have to put in him a domestic slot.

And you also have the wild card to use.

I'm pretty sure, which slot you put riders in doesn't matter in the scoring. If a rider's on your team you get whatever points he earns regardless of which slot you used to pick him. i.e. if 180 riders DQ and Cavendish wins GC, you get the GC points even though you selected him with the sprinter's spot.
